A fairly successful Easter

Yesterday I went to Needham Market to collect my unsold art from the weekend's exhibition.
Richard and I had been along to look round on Sunday morning, where I was pleased to see that I had sold one of my small original canvases! It seemed fitting that I had sold 'Drops of Winter' at this exhibition as the huge version ('The White Wood') had sold here a few years ago :)
As I had not painted anything especially for this event, I would have been happy selling just the one small canvas. However, when we went to collect the other bits yesterday, I learned that I had sold a couple of cards, one unframed giclee print and both framed prints as well as the small snowdrop canvas! That definitely made the 50 minute collection waiting time worth it :)
As far as looking ahead to the next exhibition goes, I'm not quite sure what that will be at the moment. I put in my annual application for Art on the Prom a few weeks ago - around the same time that I apply every year - to discover that not only all 85 stands had been taken, but that there were also 20 people already on the waiting list. After a pretty disappointing year sales-wise last year, I wonder if this is a blessing in disguise in a way. Since quitting full-time work to go full-time freelance I have actually been quite a lot busier than I thought I might be only 5 weeks in! Not exhibiting means we will be able to visit Art on the Prom this year with a much more relaxed mindset :)
